INFO SHEET project "Management of municipal solid waste" with the participation of ADB

• Basis for the implementation of the project: Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 31, 2014. for No. PP-2255 “On measures for the implementation of the project “Management of solid household waste in Tashkent” with the participation of the Asian Development Bank.

• Objective of the project:

• Reconstruction of two transshipment stations in the city of Tashkent and closing of one transshipment station;

• Construction of 350 units of new solid waste collection points

• and reconstruction of 350 units of existing solid waste collection points;

• Acquisition of special machines and mechanisms for the sanitary landfill and transfer stations;

• Purchase of garbage containers in the amount of 13.5 thousand units;

• Closure of the old sanitary landfill;

• Construction and arrangement according to international standards of a new sanitary landfill with an area of ​​30 hectares in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region.

• The total cost of the project

• -92.25 million US dollars, of which:

•  Foreign Investment/ADB Loan

• -$69.00 million (74.79%)

•  Contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan

• At the expense of funds

• State Unitary Enterprise "Makhsustrans"

• -USD 5.82 million (in the form of customs and tax incentives).

• $17.43 million.

• Availability of a project feasibility study: The feasibility study was approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-2255 “On measures for the implementation of the project “Solid Waste Management in Tashkent” with the participation of the Asian Development Bank dated October 31, 2014.

• Date of signing of the Loan Agreement: February 27, 2014.

• Loan closing date: June 30, 2019.

•  Project implementation period: 2014-2018.
