Construction waste management discussed

A meeting was held at the Tashkent city administration between the khokim of the capital, Shavkat Umurzakov, and Edward Prince, Director of Large Corporate Clients and International Directions and Co-Chair of the Business Group of the UK Export Finance Agency.

It was emphasized that the development of cooperation between Tashkent and Great Britain is carried out on the basis of the firm political will of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Great Britain and their mutual desire to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the areas of sustainable development, green economy, and modern technologies. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of construction waste processing and the introduction of environmental technologies into the waste disposal system of the capital.

This dialogue is being held as part of the implementation of consistent measures to fully provide the population with waste management services, bring their quality up to international standards, and increase the investment attractiveness of the industry. It also aims to increase the level of recycling, prevent accumulation in landfills, reduce the negative impact on the environment, and develop the "zero waste" principle within the framework of a circular economy.
