PRESS-TOUR: Daily waste disposal process in the capital...

A press tour dedicated to the activities of the waste management system was organized in Tashkent. Representatives of the mass media, bloggers, and environmental activists participated in the event.
Within the framework of the visit, the participants first visited the Department of Digital Development of the city of Tashkent and familiarized themselves with the digital projects implemented in the capital for waste management. With the help of these projects, the processes of waste collection, transportation, and disposal were digitized, the system was demonstrated on monitors, and direct explanations were given to the participants.
Detailed information was also provided on the possibilities of identifying areas with the largest accumulation of waste, preparing proposals for solving existing problems, as well as monitoring processes through information tablets.
The press tour participants visited the garbage collection points being built in a unified design as their next destination. During the visit, the activities of the "Yunusabad District Waste Recharge and Disposal" branch were also presented. Up to 800-900 tons of household waste are delivered to this branch daily in 150-200 units of special equipment. The daily loading capacity of the enterprise is 1250-1400 tons. Waste is transported in cylindrical containers with a capacity of 17 tons by special equipment of the "Centralized Freight Transportation Column" department to the "City Waste Landfill," located in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region, on average 47-50 times a day.

At the end of the press tour, the participants visited this landfill. This landfill, the construction of which was completed in the third quarter of 2024, made a great impression on media representatives with its modern infrastructure. Detailed information was provided on the total area of the landfill, safety measures taken during excavation work, protective layers laid to prevent groundwater pollution, waste control systems, and special pipelines installed for methane gas utilization.

As a result, the press tour participants gained a clear and comprehensive understanding of the work being carried out by the state enterprise "Maxsustrans - Production Department," the achievements and plans for the future.
