In the district branches, inspectors were instructed to collect accounts receivable. In 500 BC, the first official decree prohibiting the disposal of garbage on the streets was issued in Athens. Unfortunately, these rules were quickly forgotten, and until the 14th century, people were accustomed to throwing garbage openly - even through windows.
Centuries later, the industrial era began - thousands of people flocked to cities in search of work. Cities expanded, but with them, emissions increased, and a garbage crisis began. As a result, garbage filling city streets spread unbearable unpleasant odors, leading to an increase in the number of rats and pest insects, and the spread of infectious diseases.
From this time, authorities took the issue of waste collection and disposal under strict control, and legal responsibility was introduced.
And today?
Sometimes, looking at the situation on the streets of Tashkent, we think, "Are we returning to the Middle Ages again?"
Because the level of culture, responsibility, and awareness regarding waste is significantly declining.
If we continue on this path, we will definitely encounter such problems as the environment with diseases and pests.
This is the responsibility not only of officials, but also of every citizen.
Combating waste is not just cleaning, but preserving our culture, health, and future.
Remember: cleanliness is the face of society.
