Measures have been taken to reduce food waste and its negative impact on the atmosphere.

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution No. 589 "On Measures for the Efficient Use of Food Waste Generated at Public Catering Enterprises, Reducing its Impact on the Environment, and Preventing Excessive Losses."

Furthermore, Uzbekistan has declared 2026-2030 as the "Urgent Food Security Period" and is implementing the "Rational Consumption," or "Save Food," program.

At the same time, the conduct of weddings, family celebrations, memorial services, and ceremonies in the prescribed manner is strictly controlled. In addition, the necessity of preventing wastefulness and proper and quality nutrition is being promoted. The delivery of food waste to processing enterprises is ensured.
