In Tashkent, the possibility of paying for electricity was temporarily suspended for 6 thousand subscribers who owed for waste removal services.

As is known, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 1044 dated March 7, 2025, "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Strengthen Payment Discipline for Waste Collection and Removal Services," a new procedure for increasing payment discipline for these services was introduced.

According to the established procedure, information about debtors is transferred from the "Toza makon" electronic billing system of the Waste Management and Closed-Cycle Economy Development Agency to the billing system of the "Regional Electric Networks" joint-stock company by the 3rd of each month.

In particular, on November 5th of this year, 25,121 subscribers in Tashkent received SMS messages from the "2100" short number of "Regional Electric Networks" JSC, stating that they had approximately 2 billion 239 million soums in debts for garbage collection services.  Starting today, subscribers who have not repaid their debt within five (5) days after receiving the notification will be temporarily restricted from paying for electricity. Currently, the total amount of receivables for garbage collection services in Tashkent exceeds 582 million soums. It should be noted that this restriction is lifted immediately after the debt is fully repaid.

For reference: this procedure does not apply to debts accumulated until June 30, 2025. From July 1, 2025, restrictions will apply to debts for garbage collection services that arose from November 5 of this year. Sanitary cleaning enterprises are responsible for the accuracy and reliability of service fee calculations. In the remaining regions of the republic, this procedure will be introduced from December of this year.
