In 2024, 14.8 million tons of solid domestic waste were generated in Uzbekistan. Of the total volume of waste, 900.5 thousand tons (6.1%) were processed at 292 specialized enterprises operating in the field of waste processing and disposal. Every year, between 600 and 700 thousand tons of paper waste are generated in the republic. Currently, there are 104 waste paper processing enterprises operating in the country, processing approximately 185.6 thousand tons of paper and cardboard per year.

The development of the waste processing industry contributes to reducing the load on landfills, preserving natural resources, and improving the environmental situation. Most importantly, waste receives a second life, returning to the economy as a valuable secondary raw material for the production of new products.
