Now in Uzbekistan, solid household waste will be used to generate electricity through its combustion. In accordance with the resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (No. PP-116, PP-117, PP-118 dated March 24, 2025), measures have been approved to implement investment projects for the production of electricity from solid municipal waste in the city of Tashkent, as well as in the Andijan, Namangan, Fergana, Tashkent, Kashkadarya, and Samarkand regions.

According to these decisions, it is planned to introduce modern technologies and environmentally safe solutions in waste management in the specified regions, which will simultaneously improve the environmental situation and ensure the production of electricity through waste recycling. It is also planned to attract direct foreign investment into this industry. In accordance with the agreements on the supply of electricity and the acceptance of solid household waste, the project companies will ensure the guaranteed sale of the produced electricity to JSC "Uzenergosotish" for 30 years.
