In 2023, it is planned to allocate approximately 28 billion soums from the state budget for the construction of construction waste landfills, as well as 50 billion soums for the creation of medical waste disposal sites. This was announced by Jamshid Ishchanov, a responsible officer of the Ministry of Natural Resources, at a briefing held at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications (AIMC). Furthermore, within the framework of the approved targeted programs for 2023–2025, the implementation of large-scale measures to improve the waste management system is envisaged, including:

• reclamation of 29 solid waste landfills;
• construction of 437 waste collection points;
• creation of 26 construction waste landfills;
• procurement of 18,867 waste containers for social sector facilities;
• organization of 38 solid waste loading stations;
• creation of 60 medical waste disposal sites and installation of sorting equipment.

Overall, 1.1 trillion soums are planned to be allocated to finance these activities, which will contribute to increasing environmental safety and developing a modern waste management system.
