A meeting was held at the Tashkent Khokimiyat between the capital's khokim, Shavkat Umurzakov, and the Director for Work with Large Corporate Clients and International Directions, Co-Chairman of the Business Group at the British Export Finance Agency, Edward Prince. It was noted that the development of partnership between Tashkent and the British side is being carried out in line with the firm political will and mutual desire of the leaders of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom to strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of sustainable development, green economy and modern technologies.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of construction waste recycling and the implementation of eco-friendly technologies in the capital's disposal system.
This dialogue is taking place in the context of implementing consistent measures to ensure the full provision of waste-related services to the population, bringing their quality to international standards, increasing the investment attractiveness of the industry, as well as increasing the level of recycling, preventing waste accumulation at landfills, minimizing negative environmental impact, and developing the "zero waste" principle within the framework of a circular economy.
