According to Appendix 2a to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-5 dated January 4, 2024, waste types that are currently economically impractical to process and for which state incentives for the introduction of processing technologies are provided include:

• organic waste (food, agricultural, landscaping waste, branches, leaves, etc.) — for the production of organic fertilizers;
• waste processed by pyrolysis to obtain gas (for electricity production), liquid fuel, and rubber raw materials;
• Tetra Pak packaging;
• used power supply elements (batteries, batteries, and other current sources);
• hygiene products (diapers, medical masks, and other items);
• fluorescent lamps;
• glass waste;
• waste of electronic and electrical products;
• chemical waste (paints, aerosols, brake and hydraulic fluids, solvents, and other chemical substances);
• certain types of plastic waste (excluding PET): HDPE, PVC, LDPE, PP, PS.

Types of waste classified as "recyclable"

• all types of plastic waste;
• paper and waste paper (newspapers, magazines, cardboard, office paper, etc.);
• ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap;
• glass products and glass fragments;
• textile waste;
• rubber and rubber-technical products (vehicle tires, cameras, conveyor belts, etc.).

In a video message about the activities of the solid waste landfill located in the Akhangaran district, which was distributed on social networks, in particular, the Kun.uz online publication, unfounded claims were made about the intentional burning of waste at the landfill and the resulting damage to the environment and public health.

Regarding this situation, we inform you of the following.

First of all, the intentional burning of municipal solid waste is not part of the technological process of landfill activities, and there is no economic or technological benefit for the enterprise from such an action. On the contrary, this negatively affects the operation of specialized equipment, contradicts environmental requirements, and causes additional financial costs for the enterprise. In this regard, the intentional burning of waste at landfills is strictly prohibited.

According to Uzhydromet data, abnormally hot weather was observed across the republic on July 11-12, 2026, with air temperatures rising from +42 to +46 degrees. Also, the wind speed on these days was 3-8 m/s. Under the influence of high temperatures and dry weather, internal heating processes intensified in the waste layer at the landfill, and on July 11, 2026, spontaneous ignition (fire) occurred at some points.

The information spread on social networks that the height of the fire reached 300 meters is completely untrue. For comparison, a height of 300 meters is considered equal to the height of an average 10-storey residential building. In reality, the height of the flame observed at the contact point was approximately 50-70 centimeters. This situation was clearly reflected in the video message distributed in the online publication. Special equipment and responsible personnel were immediately deployed as soon as the contact was identified. The fire hotspots were covered with soil, the debris was compacted, and the situation was completely eliminated on the same day.

Work on the disposal and compaction of waste at the landfill is constantly carried out using two 60-ton iron-toothed compactors. This equipment operates continuously in two shifts. In order not to interrupt the work process, fuel is delivered to them directly to the training ground area by a special service motor scooter. For this reason, as stated on social networks, claims that fuel is being imported into the landfill area for the purpose of burning waste are untrue. The fuel is intended only to ensure the uninterrupted operation of specialized equipment.

Compactors are high-capacity special equipment weighing 60 tons each, consuming an average of up to 60 liters of diesel fuel per hour. Removing them from the test site will result in unnecessary time and fuel consumption. Therefore, this equipment is taken to the repair site only in the event of a technical malfunction or the need for scheduled maintenance.

Furthermore, due to the fact that these machines are iron-toothed compactors and chain bulldozers, their frequent import and export to the landfill territory leads to damage to the pavement of internal technological roads, additional operating costs, and disruption of the workflow.

It should be noted that solid household waste includes aerosol containers under various pressures (deodorants, varnishes, paints, household chemicals), gas cylinders, residues of flammable liquids, solvents, and other hazardous (highly flammable) waste without sorting by the population. The occurrence of chemical reactions within these waste under the influence of high temperatures, the release of methane gas, and spontaneous combustion are natural and technological processes encountered in international practice.

Also, contrary to the opinions expressed on social networks, residential buildings are not located in the area adjacent to the landfill. The landfill is located in the "Yangihayot" mahalla citizens' assembly of the Akhangaran district, and the distance from the landfill to the nearest residential area is approximately 4–5 kilometers.

It should be noted that such cases are not unique to the Akhangaran training ground. Recently, as a result of a sharp increase in air temperature, cases of spontaneous combustion at solid waste landfills have been observed in the Republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, as well as at landfills in some regions of Uzbekistan. This indicates that these situations may occur not due to intentional waste burning, but due to high temperatures, combustible materials in waste, methane gas released during biological decomposition, and other natural and technological factors.

We ask citizens and media representatives not to disseminate unverified information and to rely only on information from official sources on such issues.

Employees of the "Maxsustrans" state enterprise successfully completed training at CERT Academy under the international standard ISO 37001:2025 "Development of an Anti-Corruption Management System" and received relevant certificates.

During the training, participants studied the requirements of the international standard ISO 37001:2025, the principles of developing and implementing an anti-corruption management system, methods for identifying and assessing corruption risks, improving internal control mechanisms, managing conflicts of interest, as well as issues of forming an organization's culture of honesty, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption.

In the first 15 days of July, 6,204 cases of waste disposal in unauthorized places were identified in Tashkent. For these violations, administrative fines totaling 3 billion 135.2 million soums were imposed. Specifically, based on an appeal received through the "Xalq nazorati" portal, an administrative fine of 50 BCA (20.6 million soums) was issued for the illegal disposal of construction waste.

During the visit, the deputies familiarized themselves in detail with the technical condition of specialized equipment, its readiness for operation, and the daily production processes of the branch. Additionally, they were provided with information on the waste collection and removal system, serviced areas, the efficiency of equipment use, and the work being carried out to ensure sanitary conditions.

The branch's management presented information to the deputies regarding the district's passport, the main services provided to the population and legal entities, the maintenance and modernization of waste collection sites, the introduction of video surveillance systems, and measures aimed at increasing environmental culture. During the meeting, an exchange of views also took place on further improving the waste management system, improving the quality of services provided, and environmental protection. The deputies positively assessed the work carried out by the enterprise and emphasized the importance of such activities for ensuring environmental sustainability and maintaining the cleanliness of the city.

The State Enterprise "Maxsustrans Production Department" expresses its official position regarding the message circulated on social media on July 11.

A natural fire occurred at a solid waste landfill located in the Ohangaron district of the Tashkent region as a result of hot weather. Immediately after the incident occurred, relevant special services were deployed, and the fire was fully extinguished. Currently, there is no open fire at the training ground. The situation is under full control. Currently, the following are being carried out on the landfill territory: reclamation work; filling waste with soil; and measures to prevent smoke from escaping. There is no threat to public safety. We ask citizens not to trust unconfirmed information and to be guided by information disseminated through official sources.

The Department for the Use and Control of Surveillance Cameras under the Waste Management Agency identified a total of 1,548 violations related to the disposal of waste in unauthorized places throughout the republic during the 2nd quarter of 2026 (April, May, and June). Of these, 354 were committed by vehicles, and 1,194 by citizens. Administrative reports have been filed against the offenders, and appropriate measures are being taken. The share of those fined is 16.9%. The total amount of fines detected by surveillance cameras reached 123 million 394 thousand soums.

For reference: a total of more than 700 online surveillance cameras have been installed in almost all regions of the republic, allowing for the detection and response not only to waste disposal but also to other types of environmental offenses.

Today, within the framework of the "Safe and Healthy Country" month, an information and educational meeting dedicated to cybersecurity issues was held at the "Maxsustrans Production Management" State Enterprise.

The event was attended by the Head of the Recruitment Department of the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Colonel Umidjon Khamdamov, as well as Sherzod Bekmetov, an employee of the Cybercrime Control Department of the Uchtepa District Department of Internal Affairs.During the meeting, specialists spoke in detail about modern cyber threats, the most common types of internet fraud, ways to protect personal data, safe use of social networks and digital services, as well as safety measures when making online payments and working with electronic resources.

Particular attention was paid to improving the digital literacy of employees and developing skills to recognize suspicious activities on the Internet in a timely manner. Special information brochures and memos containing practical recommendations for ensuring cybersecurity in daily life and professional activities were distributed to the participants. At the end of the event, specialists answered employees' questions in detail, provided real examples of cybercrime, and emphasized that strict adherence to cybersecurity rules is one of the most important conditions for protecting citizens, organizations, and state information resources today. Such meetings contribute to strengthening the culture of safe behavior in the digital environment and increasing the level of society's protection against cyber threats.

During control measures conducted by the Shaykhantakhur District Department of Ecology and Climate Change of the Main Department of Ecology and Climate Change of Tashkent city, an employee of the Management Service Company was found to have dumped construction waste in an unauthorized place in front of the 8th house on Karatash Street, Karatash neighborhood, Shaykhantakhur district.

In accordance with Article 911 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an administrative protocol was drawn up against the offender and a fine was imposed in the amount of 3 times the basic calculation amount.
